Large Mud Puppy Vessel
Large Mud Puppy Vessel
This larger vessel is from my Mud Puppy collection. Mud Puppies are a type of salamander, but unlike most salamanders, they spend their entire lives in water, and never go through the usual metamorphosis that most salamanders go through.
This particular Mud Puppy is made of polymer. The form was created over three Maine river rocks, cured, sanded, and then laminated with my unique, translucent cane work. After all was cured a final time, it was sanded to an inch of it’s life, until is became smooth and soft to the touch. You will really enjoy holding this vessel, like all of my cane work.
Measurements: 9.5” long x 3.5” wide x 3” high
Note: This vessel is just for display, and while a sprig of dried flower might be fun to display in it’s little opening, please do not put water in it. Polymer is porous, and water could damage the vessel. Consider this a hollow sculpture, with a hole.
This is part of my older work, and was returned to me from a gallery in exchange for newer work. Thus, the price I can offer you is way lower than what it might have cost in any gallery.
